Shae has spent her whole life in the Methodist church, including the 9 months before
she was born. At a relatively young age, Shae loved working with children and youth. She
started volunteering in church nurseries as soon as the church would let her, and thus began her babysitting career.
But more than that, while in a bible study in 1998, Shae began hearing God tug on her heart to be in vocational ministry
to children and youth. During the summer of 1998, Shae served on the Leadership Team for Epworth by the
Sea on St. Simon's Island, GA.
After returning to her home church, she began part-time youth ministry while finishing
her college degree in Education. Upon finishing her Bachelors Degree, Shae began full time ministry at
Bethesda United Methodist Church. In March of 2002, Shae moved to Rincon United Methodist Church as the
youth minister. While there, she met Seth Zeigler and they married in April of 2003. Shae
returned to the education field teaching and coaching at Calvary Day School and gaining her Masters in Education from Armstrong
Atlantic State University in 2004. While teaching 8th grade at Ebenezer Middle School, Shae and Seth began
adding to their family. Upon the arrival of her son, Evan, Shae spent 4 1/2 years as a stay-at-home mom teaching her
own children. With Evan now in Preschool and Shelby, her daughter, now well on her way to childhood, Shae
has returned to vocational youth and children's ministry at Springfield United Methodist Church.
With a dynamic and supportive husband
as well as two blessings for children, Shae feels she now has even more to offer the children and youth of our congregation
and community than she ever did before. She firmly believes the children and youth of our church are very
much a vital part of our church both now and in the future.
Some of Shae's favorite quotes:
"Every adult needs a child
to teach, for that is the way adults learn." - Frank Park
"Faith without works is like a screen door on a submarine."
"I do what I do....because
He did what He did!" - Epworth Leadership Team
Some of her favorite scripture verses include:
John 14:12 "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have
been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
Proverbs 22:6 "Train a child in the way
he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but
set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity."
